Opua: THE HAWKE OF TUONELA has measles
I finished the first sanding of the hull yesterday and applied filler today. The retired surgeon who is working on the boat next to mine tells me that measles go away after ten days. Weather and my back permitting, HAWKE’S will go away tomorrow.
I still have to sand, mask, and wipe down the hull. I might be ready to start painting on Monday, but I may not have paint. I ordered ten one liter cans of sea green last Tuesday, specifying that I would like them to come from one batch. The paint was supposed to arrive Wednesday. It hadn’t on Thursday when I was in the chandlery, but was expected later that day. I didn’t make it out of the boat yard yesterday. Today I went to get the paint and found that two cans had been delivered, not ten.
I watched RAGING BULL this evening. A painful movie to watch, perhaps because of the exceptional acting and direction.
